Commander Coughlin was at the Pentagon the day of the attacks almost 10 years ago and received a Meritorious Service Medal and Purple Heart for his actions in saving others on that day as well as for injuries he sustained.

Wooley's awards include the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
