Ms. Mebarak Ripoll became a Goodwill Ambassador for the UnitedNationsInternational Children's Emergency Fund in 2003, where she promotes the expansion and improvement of comprehensive early childhood care and education across the world.
Co-administered by the World Health Organization and the UnitedNationsInternational Children's Emergency Fund, the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative is an evidence-based practice care model designed to protect and promote breastfeeding as the safest, healthiest way to nourish babies.
He said that the initiative, supported by a range of UnitedNations bodies and non-governmental organisations including Save the Children, "requires a lot of international agreement and unity".
