弹性限度亦称“弹性极限”。是指物体受到外力作用，在内部所产生的抵抗外力的相互作用力不超过某一极限值时，若外力作用停止，其形变可全部消失而恢复原状，这个极限值称为“弹性限度”。
在弹性限度内，应力发光的发光强度与所施应力成正比。
