征（拼音：zhēng），是汉语通用规范一级字。征和它的繁体“徵”原是两个不同的字。征最早见于商代甲骨文。本义为征伐，后引申为远行。“徵”始见于西周金文，本义为征召，引申指征求，又引申为征收、征取。还表示迹象、现象，引申指证明。“徵”有zhēng和zhǐ两个读音，《简化字总表》规定“徵”读zhēng时简化为“征”，但用于人名时不宜简作“征”，如魏徵、文徵明。 （基本信息栏来源： ）
