热电偶温度计是以热电效应为基础的测温仪表。它的结构简单、测量范围宽、使用方便、测温准确可靠，信号便于远传、自动记录和集中控制，因而在工业生产中应用极为普遍。热电偶温度计由三部分组成：热电偶（感温元件）；测量仪表（动圈仪表或电位差计）；连接热电偶和测量仪表的导线（补偿导线）。热电偶是工业上最常用的一种测温元件。它是由两种不同材料的导体A和B焊接而成。焊接的一端插入被测介质中，感受到被测温度，称为热电偶的工作端或热端，另一端与导线连接，称为冷端或自由端（参比端）。导体A、B称为热电极。
