肺炎链球菌肺炎是由肺炎链球菌所引起的肺实质性炎症。通常起病急骤，以高热，寒战，咳嗽，血痰及胸痛为特征。在X片胸片中呈肺段或肺叶急性炎性实变。近年来因为抗菌药物的广泛应用，使本病的起病方式，症状以及X线改变均不典型。
