The state of Wisconsin, according to the head of the Board of Regents in a talk this fall, currently contributes less than 10% to the budget of this school, a world-class institution, built by the taxpayers of Wisconsin over 150 years (and by generous alumni contributors lately), and purportedly for the citizens of this state first, and then of the world.
