Taking into consideration the complexity of museum-reserves and their role in the development of cultural and ecological tourism, during the Thematic Regional Training the following issues were discussed: improvement of cooperation forms between museum-reserves in CIS countries, effective use of museum-reserves and the role of museum-reserves as factors of regional economic development.

At the closure of the Summit, the eight Heads of State and the representatives of other countries participating in the Summit Forum adopted the Cetinje Declaration, which defines a set of eleven principles to guide future cooperation in the development of regional cultural tourism.

However, while growing tourist numbers are bringing economic opportunities and employment to local populations, helping to promote these little-known regions of the world, they have also brought challenges with them: How to ensure that local communities fully benefit from the development of tourism and that growth in tourism helps to preserve and sustain the natural and cultural riches of these regions, rather than putting them in danger?

Moreover, this platform is expected to contribute to fostering sustainable development within these countries by building national capacities for cultural industries and tourism, and enhancing the visibility of the countless historic sites, cultural events, festivals and traditions that abound along the historical Silk Roads.
