Best festival dance act went to The Prodigy and Dizzee Rascal was awarded best urban act.
Last year's festival saw Dizzee Rascal, Deadmau5 and Maximo Park take to the stage.
Dizzee Rascal and Deadmau5 will headline the event at Newcastle Gateshead Quayside on 3 and 4 June.
Though Basement Jaxx were the official headline act on day one, it was Dizzee Rascal who stole the show.
"S'long as everyone's buzzin' and havin' a good time, that's what festivals are about, man, " Dizzee Rascal said afterwards.
Other musical stars were listed in his notes, such as Dizzee Rascal, Eminem, Beyonce, Craig David, R Kelly, Chris Brown and Girls Aloud.
The 31-year-old also defended the rap by Dizzee Rascal which appears towards the end of the new version, saying it was aimed at a younger audience.
This years Jersey Live music festival takes place the first weekend of September and will feature more than 60 acts including Basement Jaxx, The Kooks and Dizzee Rascal.
As well as working on his new album, the Scottish musician has recently produced tracks for Dizzee Rascal and Kylie Minogue, as well as supplying remixes for Katy Perry, Primal Scream and Passion Pit.
Other artists in the top five in previous years include Florence and the Machine and La Roux (Sound of 2009), Duffy and the Ting Tings (Sound of 2008), Klaxons (Sound of 2007), Bloc Party (Sound of 2005), Franz Ferdinand (Sound of 2004) and Dizzee Rascal (Sound of 2003).
