Unusually cold and wet weather replete with snow, sleet and heavy winds have slowed down the researchers on the fourth consecutive NASA summer field session.
The National Weather Service was predicting up to 7 inches of heavy, wet snow in southeastern Connecticut through Friday morning and wind gusts that could hit 50 mph, bringing possible power outages.
Wintry weather wiped out Sunday's series finale in Minnesota, and heavysnow that hit Denver forced a pair of postponements this week and a frosty doubleheader on Tuesday.
