The currency of circus imagery is established by a handful of other works inspired by the Cirque Fernando, including a Degas lithograph with pastel additions of a dog act and a delightful equestrian drawing by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.
The consignment, which includes works by Henri de Toulouse Lautrec, Paul Gauguin, Pierre Bonnard and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, is led by a painting by Claude Monet.
