In 1940, four teenagers, following their dog when it disappeared down a hole near Lascaux, France, discovered 17, 000-year-old drawings now known as the Lascaux Cave Paintings.

The Lascaux Cave was found, as most caves are, by kids and a dog, and as a rule the pooch named Robot, in this case does not make it back out.
