Six players from the OhioStateBuckeyes were suspened by the NCAA for selling or trading uniforms and other memorabilia to a Columbus tattoo-parlor owner, according to the Columbus Dispatch.
The Buckeyes had beaten the Wolverines twice during the regular season and OhioState had a chance at the sweep but a 10-footer from the baseline by Chris Jent, now an assistant at OhioState, bounced off the rim as time expired in regulation.
It's become fashionable to presume that OhioState will have a bounce-back 2012 season under new coach Urban Meyer, but the Buckeyes' 24-17 loss to Florida presented plenty of reasons to think otherwise.
On Sept. 11 at 3:40 p.m. defending Big Ten Conference champion No. 3 OhioState will host No. 19 Miami of the ACC in the first meeting between the perennial powers since the Buckeyes defeated the Hurricanes 31-24 in the 2003 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl to win the 2002 BCS National Championship.
