The split in the dual role of Sark's Seneschal has come in to force.
He was deputy seneschal under Mr Guille for 13 years prior to becoming Seneschal.
The move to split the dual role of the seneschal was agreed in 2010.
They claimed the seigneur is the "effective head of state" and the seneschal "the sole judge".
They objected that Sark's hereditary seigneur and seneschal will still have an unelected role in government.
Those changes did not include the abolition of the feudal roles of Seigneur and Seneschal.
The position of seneschal will continue to be appointed by the seigneur, which is an inherited title.
The post of Seneschal was, in the past, appointed on an hereditary basis.
Since then the seigneur, the seneschal and 40 landowners have had an automatic right to seats on the Chief Pleas.
But Mr Justice Wyn Williams, sitting in London, said neither the seigneur nor the seneschal had the right to vote.
From 27 February it will be replaced by a seneschal as chief judge and a separate president of Chief Pleas.
The dual role of the Sark seneschal, as chief judge and president of the island's government, will end next month.
Mr La Trobe-Bateman was the only candidate for the new Seneschal post, and has also taken on the jobs of magistrate and coroner.
Jeremy La Trobe-Bateman has taken over the title of seneschal from Lieutenant Colonel Reg Guille, but has only taken on the role of Sark's chief judge.
Mr Guille was the only person nominated for the job of president of chief pleas, a role he previously carried out under the title of Seneschal.
Sir David and Sir Frederick, 73-year-old twins, have pushed for democracy on the island and challenged the unelected posts of seigneur and seneschal, which have remained despite the election.
The seigneur's right of veto was strictly limited and the seneschal had no right to speak at meetings of the Chief Pleas except as necessary to discharge his duties.
The Seneschal role had combined the chief judge and president of the island's government since 1675, but the change was made due to concerns it did not comply with human rights laws.
Current Seneschal Lt Col Reg Guille MBE was first appointed in February 2000, is the 26th person to hold the position and is a direct descendant of the island's 16th Century settlers.
In 2010 the Seneschal stood down from his role as president of Chief Pleas as he was seen to have an "unfair" dual role because he is also the island's senior judge.
Lawyers acting for the Barclay brothers claimed recent changes allowing the Seigneur to remove the Seneschal (the island's judge) and take on the role of President of Chief Pleas during a vacancy went against principles of democracy.
