Plans by a youth hostel to wash treated sewage into a cave on a Cornish beach are being opposed by local residents.

YHA, which has been in the area for 60 years, said the current system was defective and the proposed system would carry treated sewage from the hostel down to the cave on the beach.
Currently, only 50 percent of urban sewage is treated.
