Based on the forest resources distribution map of three periods, taking GIS as a means of analysis, applying landscape ecology means, forest landscape and its type change were studied.

The study extracted the image of the distribution of forest landscape and overlay with forest coverage map. Broadleaf forest, conifer forest , mixed forest and shurb are classified with NDVI.

Then we overlay land-use map and the results of land suitability evaluation of Aohanqi Banner to get the amount and spatial distribution of farmland which should be returned to forest and grassland.
