癞蛤蟆托德慢慢坐起来，擦干眼泪。

You two animals will accompany me instantly to Toad Hall, and the work of rescue shall be accomplished.

The other animals looked hard at Toad to see how he would take it.

The Toad fidgeted a good deal, but the Rat held him firmly down.

They cried, "seize the Toad, the wicked animal who stole our motor-car!"

Toad was inclined to be sulky at first; but he brightened up immediately, like the good fellow he was.

"I'm an ungrateful beast, I know," sobbed Toad, shedding bitter tears.

"There's Toad Hall," said the Rat; "and that creek on the left, where the notice-board says, Private."

"You are a good, kind, clever girl," he said, "and I am indeed a proud and a stupid toad."

The Toad's nervous terrors all returned, but the Badger only remarked placidly, "They are going it, the Weasels!"
