This article takes the pseudo ginseng industry in Wenshan, Yunnan, as an example to illustrate the selection methods and principles of leading industries in underdeveloped regions.

Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomy district is located in the southeast of Yunnan, and famous for Sanqi.

Wenshan is the only district where shan Qi is mainly produced in large quantities. However, up to the present there haven't been any modern industrial structures and scales matching the products.
