The paper elaborates the relationship between the elements of design thought of visual image about the 50th anniversary of East China Institute of Technology (ECIT) and vi design ideal.

After the specialty structure and layout of ECIT was analyzed in this contribution, some ideas for specialty group constructing were brought forward according to the characteristic of every specialty.
