School aged children should be encouraged to do homework as soon as they get home from school – this way it doesn't get lost, forgotten, and it can't be used as an excuse to not go to bed.

If you start work earlier, you may get done earlier, giving you a chance to spend the early evenings with your kids before they go to bed.
