Over the years, there have been many successful cases of student entrepreneurship and such attempts should be encouraged by both the universities and the society at large.

But one thing that may save them to some extent is the uneven distribution of startup outcomes: practically all the returns are concentrated in a few big successes.

But in much of the world, such networks are notable by their absence-and so, too, are examples of Silicon Valley-style successful entrepreneurship.
