The units painted on the dial of a scale are often mass units, not force units.

Indeed, the very notion of productivity is a by-product of the clock: once one can relate performance to uniform time units, work is never the same.

However, for us humans, this information matters, particularly if our productivity — how many of these ones and zeros we can produce per unit time — is taken into account.
