地主阶级
一般指封建社会地主制经济下，统治阶级剥夺人民的土地所有权，主要以地租形式剥削农民的土地所有者。封建社会中领主制经济下的一切大土地所有者，如封建领主亦称地主。地主制经济以中国封建社会最为典型。中国的封建地主对自有土地采取多种经营形式：有的是由自己经营，采取剥削雇工的形式；而主要的是将土地分与他人经营，采取以地租剥削依附农或佃农的形式。依附农在历代有私属徒、部曲、佃仆等类型；佃农在历代有佃客、庄户、田客、佃户等别称。唐宋以后，分租给佃农的形式逐渐排斥和代替依附农形式，成为地主制经营中的典型形式。
