An investigation of magnetic fabrics has been carried out in northwestern Sichuan from the front zone in the northern segment of the Longmen fold-thrust belt to the margin of the Sichuan basin.

The favorable plays include the thrust belt in Dabashan area, sag in the north Sichuan province and uplift in the central Sichuan province.

The test and popularization results of the method of putting in stalk through pulling apart core by Using the long core barrel in Sichuan hard rocks are simply presented in this article.
