The book Zhuang Zi shows the trinity of fable, randomness and tautology, which is different from the signified of conceptual thinking but is the signifier with implied meanings.

Linguistically Zhiyan exist in 3 phases, namely revelation in Dao, embodiment of Dao, and "expression of the inexpressible" , all having become basic ways of expression for Zhuangzi and his school.
