The title reaction is reviewed with 50 references, the catalysts, the mechanism of asymmetric catalysis, the self-catalyzed process and the chiral amplification phenomenon are discussed.

We hope to develop a method to assemble a new class of turbine-like aggregates, and then investigate their applications in molecular recognition, supramolecular chirality transfer and amplification.
