Galaxy s sales Numbers have reportedly boosted Samsung's confidence in the handset arena, leading the company to focus on smartphones for 2011 production.

Apple has benefited from the boom in smart-phones, Google from users clicking on more advertisements and Intel from the popularity of "netbooks" (small laptops), many of which contain its chips.

Meanwhile, it has signed agreements with Asian mobile-phone carriers outside of Japan to distribute its hot-selling iPhone in the past 12 months.
