Plickat is the first foreign sculptor who taught abstract composition as well at the sculpture department of the Tsinghua academy in beijing and as at the public art department of the CAA in hangzhou.

Hu Shanyu was born in Kaiping of Guangdong Province in 1909. He entered in Hangzhou National Art College in 1929, and then enrolled ENSBA in 1930.

He currently resides and works in Hangzhou, both as an artist and Professor at China Academy of Fine Arts, and as a visiting Professor in the department of art at Anhui University.
