染色馒头是通过回收馒头加防腐剂防止发霉，再加上着色剂而做出来的馒头。2011年4月初，《消费主张》节目指出，在上海市浦东区的一些华联超市和联华超市的主食专柜都在销售同一个公司生产的三种馒头，高庄馒头、玉米馒头和黑米馒头。这些染色馒头的生产日期随便更改，食用过多会对人体造成伤害。
