On October 15, 2004, re-nowned painter and writer Chen Danqing wrote his resignation letter to Tsinghua University in Beijing where he had taught at the Academy of Arts and Design since 2000.

With 50 per cent of the classes taught on Tsinghua's Beijing campus and 50 per cent at Insead in Singapore, the programme has attracted 25 per cent of its students from China.
