我们的人体端坐或站立时，包绕于内的椎骨在其中段有向前向后凸出的弧度，这一弧形凸起，在医学上称为脊椎的生理曲度。正常值是12±5mm。可增加颈椎的弹性，防止大脑的损伤。但肌肉扭伤、颈椎病、脊柱炎等可能使颈椎生理曲度变直。
