白三叶草，作为一种地被植物。这是一种豆科植物，作为地被植物不仅有覆盖地表的特点，而且有固氮，提高土壤氮素水平的能力。白三叶草，茎匍匐，喜温凉湿润气候，繁殖快，侵占性强，且成坪快，耐践踏，在一般土壤中生长良好，也耐一定的盐碱和粗放管理，因而被称之为一箭双雕的地被植物。
