Objective To investigate the clinical effects of using the chopper designed by us in small-incision hard nucleus cataract nonphacoermul-sification and intraocular lens implantation surgery.

Conclusions Low energy and high vacuum phacomulsification combined with crush and chop technique for hard nucleus cataract is safe, quick and effective.
