白刃战是指不用火器远距离对射，在近距离发生的以格斗为主要形式的作战，样式上有徒手肉搏拼刺刀使用匕首大刀工兵铲等对砍等等，是极为残酷战斗。一般来说双方的伤亡率基本是1：1，这就不仅要求士兵有很好的刺杀技术，而且要有极强的心理承受能力，即稳定的心理素质。
