粘虫是一种昆虫，为鳞翅目，夜蛾科。在中国除新疆未见报道外，遍布各地。寄主于麦、稻、粟、玉米等禾谷类粮食作物及棉花、豆类、蔬菜等16科104种以上植物。幼虫食叶，大发生时可将作物叶片全部食光，造成严重损失。因其群聚性、迁飞性、杂食性、暴食性，成为全国性重要农业害虫。2012年8月14日，全国粘虫发生面积近5000万亩，危害程度近十年最重。
