The equivalent linear viscous damping system for the viscoelastic fractional derivative model is discussed here.

Dampers have been used for vibration mitigation of stay cables; however, there are few literatures on the test of full-scale stay cable attached with nonlinear viscous damper.

The natural vibration of linear systems with any viscous damping was discussed in this paper, its applications to the response and identification of the systems were explicated.
