细菌毒素
细菌可产生内、外毒素及侵袭性酶，与细菌的致病性密切相关。细菌毒素可以区分为两种：放到菌体外的称为菌体外毒素（exotoxins）；含在体内的，在菌体破坏后而放出的，称为菌体内毒素（endotoxins）。但是在菌体外毒素中，也有通过菌体的破坏而放出体外的，所以这种区分法并不是很严密的。菌体外毒素大多是蛋白质，其中有的起着酶的作用。白喉杆菌、破伤风杆菌、肉毒杆菌等的毒素均为菌体外毒素。
