Objective To evaluate the change of ghrelin and leptin levels in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) before and after continuous positive airways pressure (CPAP).

Each person took the test twice over two days and beforehand received either an injection of ghrelin, a hunger hormone that is released by the stomach, or a shot of saline as a control.

So far there is no effective way to get rid of it, but a new study suggests an answer may lie in the stomachs of some hungry worms.
