随意解雇：在美国劳动法中，雇主有权因任何原因解雇雇员（即无需为解雇提供“正当理由”），并且无需提前警告，只要解雇的原因不违法（例如因雇员的性别、性取向、种族、宗教或残疾状况而解雇）。当雇员被确认为“随意解雇”时，法院不会支持雇员因解雇而提出的任何损失索赔。该规定的支持者认为，雇员可能同样有权无需提供原因或警告而离职。然而，那些认为雇佣关系存在不平等的人认为这种做法是不公正的。
