Try wearing a thin pair of gloves under a pair of heavier gloves or mittens lined with wool or fleece.

The machine is suitable for sewing thin, medium, thick fabris such as brassiere, underwear, gloves shoes, and caps.

Personally I use some small and thin "multi-purpose" training gloves from JD.
