赤桉
赤桉（学名：Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehnh.）是桃金娘科桉属植物，大乔木，高25米；树皮平滑，暗灰色，片状脱落；嫩枝圆形，最嫩部分略有棱。幼态叶对生，叶片阔披针形；成熟叶片薄革质，狭披针形至披针形，稍弯曲，两面有黑腺点；叶柄长纤细。伞形花序腋生，有花5-8朵，总梗纤细；花梗长5-7毫米；花蕾卵形；萼管长3毫米；雄蕊花药椭圆形，纵裂。蒴果近球形，果缘突出2-3毫米，果瓣4，有时为3或5。花期12月-8月。赤桉的别名是小叶桉、桉木。赤桉在澳大利亚的分布最广，除荒漠及半荒漠外，几乎各地均有分布。在中国栽种的面积也较广，从华南到西南均有栽培。喜阳，喜温暖、湿润，耐干旱，稍耐寒。木材红色，抗腐性强，适用于枕木及木桩等；叶含油量0.14-0.28% ；赤桉是一种重要的蜜源树种；被广泛用作蔽荫树、庇护树，或用来改善环境。（概述图参考来源：）
