It's proved by our calculation that optimum design of such large-size construction as roiling mill housing is carried on by the OPTSDP, with high efficiency and satisfied results.

In this paper, an optimum design of transient fillets in the housing has been carried out by a program package-OPTSDP for optimal design of the shape using FEM, with rapid redesigning function.
