The modern Olympic Games were established in 1986 and at the 1912 Olympic Games, held in Stockholm, equestrian events, together with dressage, were included.

Together, FEI and WBFSH have organized the World Breeding Championships forSport Horses (WBCSH) in dressage, jumping, and eventing since 1992.

Its purpose was not only to control the rules and regulations of international equestrian competitions, but to develop equestrian sport, including dressage, on a worldwide basis.
