OBJECTIVE To observe the characters of high-calorie diet-fed insulin resistant(IR) animal model, and to explore the affecting factors of the model.

CONCLUSION High-calorie diet can lead to IR animal model, which is effected by the artifactitious pattern of the feed, and the gender of experimental animal.
