垂直一体化亦称“纵向一体化”或“纵向联合”。指生产、加工和运销过程中，两个或两个以上前后不同阶段的部门或企业所实行的紧密结合。其中又可分为：(1) 完全的垂直一体化。即是将农业生产连同有关的生产资料的生产、供应以及农产品加工、销售等各个环节，纳入同一经营体制内。(2)不完全的垂直一体化。即通过签订合同的方式，使得农业生产资料的供应、农业生产以及农产品加工运销等环节结合在一起，签订合同的双方仍保持经济上的独立。
