The Detroit automaker is halting production of the 2002 ChevroletTrailBlazer, GMC Envoy and Oldsmobile Bravada SUVs at its Moraine, Ohio, assembly plant until April 16.
"I have had it with them, " says Paragonah Mayor Connie Robinson, who has a prairie-dog doll with a target on it on the dashboard of her ChevroletTrailblazer.
The reason, according to Global Insight's Lindland: People can switch from midsized, truck-based SUVs like the Ford Explorer, ChevroletTrailblazer, Toyota 4Runner and Nissan Pathfinder into lighter, more fuel efficient so-called crossover vehicles like the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander and forthcoming GMC Acadia without losing much utility.
