The Palestinian filmmaker Annemarie Jacir tells the story of Soraya (Suheir Hammad), a young Brooklyn-born woman of Palestinian ancestry who travels to Ramallah to reclaim an emotional heritage as well as a material one: the long-dormant bankaccount of her grandfather, who was born in Yaffa but left in 1948.
