I wanted to present a different kind of work that is more meditative.

The eighth movement, "The Resurrected and the Song of the Star Aldebaran, " strikes ameditative mood, with strings chanting a gently shifting melody while stars twinkle and birds twitter in the glockenspiel, piccolo and piano.
The temples of Buddhism sheltered only a lucky few, and besides, the Buddhist meditative tradition pursues a selfless emptiness, a still point, the harking of universal immanence.
