The annual summer movie onslaught will only build upon previous releases heavy on digital enhancements, such as Lord of the Rings and Pearl Harbor, while the latest Star Wars release, which hits screens at midnight, is nudging the entire film industry toward taking traditional film out of the movie-making process entirely and replacing it with digital formats.
