Paper-folding enthusiasts gathered at the National Railway Museum in York to create a train of 1, 550 wagons, headed by a paper model of Stephenson's Rocket.
In both, the scenes fill six panels of folding screens that, thanks to the 14th-century Japanese invention of the paper hinge, presented artists with large, seamless surfaces.
